Riverwalk Sling Bag Sewing Pattern
A unisex water bottle sling bag sewing pattern to accommodate right- and left-handed users. Great for carrying the essentials when on the go. The finished bag can hold up to a 40 oz. container in the main compartment and features an expandable accordion front pocket with 3 card slots, a slip pocket, and space that can fit a larger sized cell phone.
The Riverwalk Sling Bag can be used year-round: use it to carry a thermos during the cold seasons, or for a water bottle in the warmer months.
This pattern is also domestic machine friendly!

FEATURES:
Designed with versatility and practicality in mind, the Riverwalk Sling Bag offers the following features and functionality:
• Can hold up to a 40 oz. water bottle or thermos.
• An adjustable cross-body strap that can be worn on the left or the right side of the body.
• The sling strap allows the bag to lay at a more comfortable angle and makes it easier to place or pull out a water bottle without wrestling with the bag as much.
• “Oh crap!” handles on the right and left side of the bag for an added grip to lift the bag as needed. This is great for people that have difficulty physically gripping things.
• An expanding accordion front pocket with a pocket flap and magnetic snap closure.
• The front pocket contains 3 card slots, a slip pocket, and enough space to hold a larger cell phone.
• Highly customizable so creativity can be unleashed!
RECOMMENDED FABRICS:
The Riverwalk Sling Bag can be made with quilt cottons, waterproof canvas, water resistant canvas, waxed canvas, cork fabric, vinyl, and/or faux leather. Interfacing and stabilizer needs vary depending on the fabric materials being used.
• Main Exterior Fabric – 1/2 Yard
• Main Exterior Contrast Fabric (when making a crossbody strap) – 1 3/4 Yard
• Alternate Main Exterior Contrast (if using webbing for a strap) – Fat Quarter
• Main Lining Fabric – 1/2 Yard
• Pocket Lining Fabric – 1/2 Yard
• Interfacing – 1 full yard
• Stabilizer – 24” x 12”
REQUIRED HARDWARE:
Per the sewing pattern, the following hardware is required to complete the bag:
• (2) 1” Snap Hooks (for the crossbody adjustable strap)
• (1) 1” Slider (for the crossbody adjustable strap)
• (3) 1” D Rings (for the strap connectors)
• (1) 9/16” (14mm) Slim Magnetic Snap (for the front pocket closure)
OPTIONAL HARDWARE:
So many options! This bag is highly customizable. Some options are listed as follows, but as creativity is applied, the pattern can be adjusted to use most hardware available.
• 1” Webbing can be substituted for the strap
• Rivets and/or grommets
• O-Rings can be substituted for the D-Rings
